Martha Wainwright: Celebrating Kate (Interview)
Nonesuch Records will release Sing Me The Songs: Celebrating The Works Of Kate McGarrigle, this week. The two-disc set features 34 songs recorded live from a series of concerts held place in London, New York and Toronto. The concerts featured artists such as Norah Jones, Emmylou Harris, Teddy Thompson and Broken Social Scene, along with McGarrigle’s children, Martha and Rufus Wainwright. It also features the first performance of Richard and Linda Thompson together since the couple split in the 1980s. The 13th Floor spoke with Martha Wainwright about the shows just as she was wrapping up her tour of Australia and getting ready to head back to New York.
