Filmmaker Allan George: Sounds Perfect (Interview)

Chances are, as you are reading this, Allan George is winging his way to North America…and you helped send him there. Allan is an up-and-coming young filmmaker whose short film, Sounds Perfect, is being shown in Toronto and Austin. Thanks to being granted “short film travel funding” from the New Zealand Film Commission, Allan George will soon be rubbing shoulders with the likes of film director Robert Rodriguez and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan at the 20th Austin Film Festival where Sounds Perfect is being screened.

In typical Kiwi fashion, Allan George and his co-director/writer Greg Stubbings made the seven-minute short film on the smell of an oily rag…or just under $300.00. The film follows the exploits of Dave Dobson, an “audio enhancement engineer” who works on adult films. Needless to say, its a comedy.

Allan George 3The 13th Floor sat down with Allan George just before he was about to take off to the Great White North and had a chat about Sounds Perfect and what he hopes to accomplish overseas.
