13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Emily Fairlight – Time’s Unfaithful Wife

Today we introduce you to Emily Fairlight. Emily is a Wellington-based alternative folk artist who has just recorded her second album in Austin, Texas.

Private Apocalypse is due out in early 2018, but the album’s first single, Time’s Unfaithful Wife is out now. Emily is currently touring around New Zealand.

Here’s the record company blurb:

Emily Fairlight is a poet and a songwriter.

She writes lyrically driven alternative folk, with a rock ‘n’ roll heart. Others have compared her sound to Natalie Merchant, P.J. Harvey, Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane) and Cat Power.

The first single ‘Time’s Unfaithful Wife’, was recently recorded with Douglas Walseth of the Cat’s Eye Studio in Austin Texas, featuring Cully Symington (Okerville River, Conor Oberst), Kullen Fuchs, and Andrew Bain (Fur Patrol), and mastered by James Goldsmith.

‘Time’s Unfaithful Wife’, along with ‘Sinking Ship’, will be released on a very limited 7″ record available only at the live shows. Catch her in one of these…
