The Disappointments – The Tuning Fork April 25, 2018
The Disappointments got together last night for a special one-off show at Auckland’s Tuning Fork.
The Disappointments are Hammond Gamble (guitar/vocals), Andy MacDonald (bass) and Brent Eccles (drums). If that line-up sounds familiar to you, you make also know them as Street Talk, the band Gamble fronted 40 years ago.
With a new, self-titled album, just out, the group decided to hold a “Buck A Head” show at The Tuning Fork on Anzac Day.
Despite drummer Eccles’ cries of “How does this one go?”, the band performed admirably, playing a mix of new originals and a few classic blues numbers thrown in for good measure. Gamble’s guitar work was a particular highlight.
