Splore has kept things typically eclectic with its first music programme announcement which includes brass bands, sea shanties and flamenco, alongside the usual offerings of soul, hip hop, pop and electronica.
The weekend just gone provided a getaway like no other for a community like no other. Veterans and newbies alike flocked to the shores of Tapapakanga Regional Park to revel in the tunes, laughter, colours and freedom that is: Splore Festival.
Splore is celebrating Level 1 with newly available festival tickets. Splore is throwing the biggest eclectic party of the summer, hosting some of Aotearoa’s top talent in music, visual art and performance – the remaining tickets are expected to sell fast.
For the first time in Aotearoa, a major festival’s main stage acts will all feature female talent. Splore 2021 will feature 100% female and gender mixed acts on its main stage during the event’s three-day programme.
Splore has rounded off its 2020 music programme with exclusive New Zealand sets from world- renowned UK garage DJ EZ plus LA’s Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One’s Tuxedo project.
Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band’s debut NZ tour in 2016 won over audiences with the exceptional slide guitar skills of the Rev himself along with his wife “Washboard” Breezy Peyton’s rhythmic washboard strumming accompanied by some boot stompin’ drums.
