Hard to believe, but there he was…the legendary front man for the 13th Floor Elevators, Roky Erickson. After a somewhat shambolic 45 minute set from Roky’s band, fronted by his son Jegar, the great man finally appeared. He and his five-piece band used the old 50s tune Bo Diddley to warm up to before launching into Cold Night For Alligators. Apart from Goodbye Sweet Dreams, the majority of the hour-long set focussed on Roky’s 70s output with rockers like Bermuda, Don’t Slander Me and Two Headed Dog. He wrapped up with two Elevators tunes, Reverberation and, of course, You’re Gonna Miss Me.
