New Music From Mavis Staples!

Mavis Staples will release a new album titled, Livin” On A High Note, on Anti- Records on February 19th. The 12-track album features Mavis singing new songs written for her by songwriters including Nick Cave, Neko Case, Ben Harper and M Ward, who produced the record.

Referencing and drawing from her past while taking the music to fresh places, Mavis and her team recruited a unique dozen of today’s heralded and up-and-coming artists to write songs for the record. The names gathered here impress and excite: Neko Case, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Nick Cave, Ben Harper, Tune-Yards, Aloe Blacc, Benjamin Booker, Son Little, and M. Ward—with Ward also tapped to produce the album in full.
