Leon Russell Interview

Leon Russell has been making music for almost 50 years, first as one of the premiere LA session  players, then as a singer/songwriter and performer. His piano playing can be heard on classic hits by The Byrds and The Beach Boys while his live performances in the early 70s electrified audiences. He has also written his fair share of great songs including Delta Lady, Superstar, Tightrope and A Song For You. Recently Leon has made something of a comeback thanks to his collaboration with Elton John. That collaboration resulted in an album of new material written by the two of them called Union.  Now Leon Russell is back on the road with a show scheduled in Auckland at The Powerstation on April 21st. The 13th Floor spoke to Leon Russell while he was on the road in the U.S.
