Interview: Paul McLaney Talks About IMMRAM, Music and Mythology

In addition to being a recording artist under his own name and as Gramsci, Paul McLaney works on the other side of the music business at Mushroom Publishing. Now he can add Record Label Owner to his list of credits. Paul is one of three music lovers who have just started Escape Artists Recordings. The label’s first release is one of the most ambitious projects to see the light of day in years. IMMRAM – The Voyage Of The Corvus Corrone is reportedly a reissue of a long lost syth prog classic originally released in the mid-70s. The music is released here on CD, but that’s just one element of this elaborately conceived and produced package. The CD comes housed in an LP-sized hardcover book, embossed with a gold “Cog” design and featuring an amazing 60-page book, complete with full-colour illustrations and intricate liner notes. It truly needs to be seen to be appreciated.

Paul McLaney stopped by The 13th Floor to talk about his exciting new venture. Listen here to the conversation:
