In Her Own Words: Rachel Dawick Presents The Boundary Riders

Rachel Dawick The Boundary RidersKiwi Rachel performer Rachel Dawick has just released her fourth album. The Boundary Riders takes us back to the early days of New Zealand and tells the true stories of six women and one man. According to Rachel’s web site www.racheldawick.com/: “Her background in drama and literature now comes to the fore in her songwriting as also in her singing as she takes on each of the six women as they emerge from this Wild West scene to tell their tale – the Washer Woman, the Goldminer, The Prostitute, The Magician, The Missionary’s Wife and the Fraudster. We are no longer sitting in the comfort of our living room but transported to New Zealand in the 1800s guided by our narrator who weaves the journeys of each of the six women.” Rachel will appear at the Auckland City Library this Friday at 5:30pm to introduce fans to her new work, which also includes a 52-page, fully illustrated book.

Rachel Dawick took time to come up to The 13th Floor to personally tell the stories of several of the characters featured on the album and in the book. Listen here to music and words from Rachel Dawick as she presents The Boundary Riders:
