The first rounds of judging for WOW 2017 are currently underway.
WOW is the acronym for World Of Wearable Art, which was the much loved creation- birthed in Aoteoroa in 1987 – of Dame Suzie Moncrieff.
It’s an annual design competition which now reaches around the globe and attracts hundreds of entries from around New Zealand and over 40 other countries .
The brief for a WOW outfit is that it must sit at the cutting edge of fashion, art, design, costume, and theatre, and combine all those elements in a wearable entry.
This year, WOW’s Creative Director Kip Chapman has invited Alison Bruce, an award-winning Kiwi actor, to lead the audience through the fantasical and wondrous Clothing World of the annual WOW theatrical production, to be held in mid-September in Wellington.
Alison Bruce joined Liz Gunn in the 13th Floor Studio to discuss her upcoming and still-evolving contribution to this year’s WOW and also her long and fruitful acting career thus far.
