Nadia Reid Announces Show At The Newly Refurbished Hollywood Cinema

Having just completed a sold out tour of New Zealand, Nadia Reid is delighted to announce she has been invited to headline a show at the very beautiful historic cinema in Avondale, Auckland –  The Hollywood Cinema.
“I get really excited about playing in beautiful spaces like the Hollywood Cinema. That kind of MAKES a show for me. That, with good sound, good food and good people. It’s a perfect storm. Not to mention the beautiful women who have just played there before me (Hollie & Aldous).” – Nadia Reid

It will be Nadia’s last appearance in Auckland for some time before she heads back to the Northern Hemisphere to continue touring her latest much applauded album, Preservation.

The Hollywood Cinema was built in 1915,  beginning life as the “Avondale Town Hall” this neo-classical building has had a fascinating history and is the earliest example of cinema in Auckland (there was an earlier building used for movies which was moved next door and remains there to this day).

In 2016, The Hollywood Cinema reopened newly refurbished and alongside great fun retro movie screenings and 24 hour movie marathons, the theatre has also seen some of New Zealand’s finest musical talent play in its hallowed chamber including Tiny Ruins, Lawrence Arabia, Aldous Harding and most recently Jean-Paul Sartre Experience.

All shows have sold out  in advance as concert goers learn of the very special night this venue, the setting, visuals and added atmosphere of the quality food and beverages add to the “gig” experience!
